Being a Modern Stay at Home Mum

After the first few months of maternity leave, before which you’re only able to think about the little person you brought into the world, you start to wonder “What Next?”

When I gave birth to my daughter I knew my life would change beyond recognition, but I didn’t realise how much I would change.
So whilst my heels are getting smaller, my handbags are getting bigger, my purse is definitely getting emptier!

Going back to my probably job was never really an option for me. I tried telling my husband that I had retired, but we both knew that at 27 with a baby and a mortgage my dreams of a life of luxury where somewhat unrealistic.

So what next? Another more flexible job? I considered this but, with the economy not being at its best and stupidly expensive childcare costs, I would be working full time to be a mere couple pounds better off each month, not to mention that I just really don’t want to leave my daughter everyday.

So www.babylovesshopping.co.uk and www.babylovesparties.co.uk were born. (Slight lie……….we brought www.babylovesshopping.co.uk from the lovely Jo @ www.magentaskysolutions.co.uk)

Owning my own business gives me the flexibity to work around my main job, being a Mummy! It also gives us an extra income so that I can keep buying my flat shoes and large handbags! So I am both a Stay at Home Mum and Mumperneur.
